Corruption: The international non-governmental organization called ‘Transparency International’, which has prepared its report after assessing the corruption situation in various countries of the world, has recently released such a report. According to the report, Denmark is the least corrupt country in the world and its people consider it as reliable.

Denmark gets so many points

Transparency International on Tuesday released its 2024 ‘Corruption Dharna Index’ (CPI), with Denmark 90 CPI score at the top of the seventh consecutive year. The report gave 180 countries from 0 to 100. Zero marks means the most corrupt, and 100 marks means the least corrupt.

This is why Denmark remains at the top continuously.

Denmark is the least corrupt country, the reason for this is the mindset of the people there. About 74 percent of Denmarks believe that people from almost all countries of the world are reliable. They do not doubt strangers either. Corruption is not just a government matter, corruption is also done at a personal level and it has become a habit among people. Since Danish people are honest, they easily trust others. Such mutual belief is not seen in people of any other country. This is the reason that people in Denmark do not cheat each other and it is considered the least corrupt country in the world.

These countries remain in the top ten

After Denmark, Finland was second with 88 CPI. After this, Singapore (84) and New Zealand (83) are third and fourth. Luxembourg, Norway and Switzerland are ranked fifth with 81 points, while Sweden (80) and Netherlands (78) are ranked 8th and 9th respectively. Australia, Iceland and Ireland ranks 10th in combined with 77 points.

How corrupt India is? What is the rank of our country?

The report said that India is ranked 96th this year. This means that India is one of the most corrupt countries. India’s CPI score is 38. India’s position has fallen three places since the ranking of 2023. Among the neighboring countries of India, Pakistan ranks 135th, Sri Lanka 121st and Bangladesh 14th. China’s situation is relatively better. He has been ranked 76th.

What is the situation in America?

The United States ranks 28th in this index. His CPI score was 65. The US has also slipped down to the bottom of 2023. Similarly, the situation of rich and honest countries like Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, France, Spain and Italy has also declined.

Some examples of the faith of Danish people

People of Denmark do not file unnecessary court cases. They do not put alarm in their homes or cars to stop theft. In most businesses, everything is decided through oral interaction and people do not back down from their point. Even if written agreement is reached, it is not given priority. People have full faith in the work of government institutions like police, courts and hospitals. Denmark’s official website calls Denmark a ‘land of faith’.

‘Land of faith’ in true sense

Let us take an example of how much Denmark people trust each other. The shopkeepers here often leave their shops in shabby condition. The door has a QR code. He opens when the customer scanned the door. The customer takes what he wants, leaves the money at the counter and goes away. There is no need to depend on anyone here, everything is based on confidence. Even in today’s time. Can you imagine that such a system, such belief, is possible in our country?

This issue also increases mutual trust.

The people of Denmark are very honest, but there is another reason that increases mutual trust among people here, and that is economic equality. Denmark is a rich and developed country. The GDP of the people here is better than most European countries. The difference between rich and poor is not very deep here. The class of people with equal income is very large. This also increases mutual trust. In addition, the Denmark government bears several expenses from education to health for its citizens. It provides equal facilities to all, which also increases the feeling of equality in people. Since there is no distinction between high and low, the level of mutual trust in the people here is high.

There is also another aspect of the coin.

People believe that ‘Ram Rajya’ is running in Denmark. But recently, corruption cases have also come to light in Denmark. Some time ago, the issue of not giving the right details of his assets by about 20 members of Denmark’s Parliament was raised. Several members of the Police Working Council were forced to resign, as they were accused of using the council’s money to enjoy expensive dinner parties. This is why Denmark is not a fully rich country.

Corruption in a report on corruption?

The authenticity of Transparency International’s ‘Corruption Dharna Index’ has also been questioned from time to time. Experts say that this report is based only on public opinion rather than detecting the true nature of corruption, so it cannot be blindly trusted. How can we be sure that people are telling the truth? The ‘Transparency International’ deliberately shows western countries less corrupt and developing countries like India and Brazil more corrupt. Despite the major scams, countries in the US and Europe have been given high ranking, which has led to allegations of transparency in transparency international work.
