A man employed at a bike showroom in Naraina, New Delhi, stole lakhs of rupees from his company after he was denied a salary hike. Identified as a 20-year-old native of Ludhiana, Hasan Khan served as a technical expert at the workplace for more than a year and was upset that his boss didn’t increase his salary.

₹6 lakh cash and electronics stolen

Khan decided to steal the bike showroom and escape with some money when other employees were busy celebrating New Year’s Eve.

Amidst celebration and noise in the city, Khan looted the office of ₹6 lakh cash and electronic items (including two expensive cameras).

Wears helmet, turns off lights to carry out theft

He carried out the theft on December 31 by wearing a helmet to conceal his identity. He also turned off lights to cheat CCTV cameras, however, the police managed to get hold of him later.

It was reported that the Delhi police scrutinised over 100 CCTV cameras installed around the showroom during the investigation.

Police told the media that Khan, who was accused of stealing cash and electronics from the showroom he worked at, committed the theft after the management refused to give him a salary hike.

After checking the large number of CCTV footages, the cops interrogated Khan as suspect in the case. It was reported that he confessed about the crime upon questioning, following him ₹5 lakh in cash was recovered.
