New Delhi: In the national capital Delhi, the increase in arbitrary fees by private schools will now be curbed. The BJP government of Delhi has taken a big decision in this regard and the cabinet has approved the ‘Delhi Fees Act’. With this new law, private schools will no longer be able to increase the fees arbitrarily. After the approval of the state cabinet, this bill will now be introduced in the assembly. If this bill is passed in the Legislative Assembly, then this law will be implemented in Delhi. Under this law, it will be mandatory for schools to follow government rules while increasing the fees.

Parent worried due to fees hike

In the last few months, private schools have suddenly and massive tuition fees. In this background, many parents have expressed strong displeasure. According to a survey, 42 percent of the parents agreed that school fees have increased by 50 to 80 percent in the last three years. In protest, the parents also protested in front of the Delhi Education Directorate Office. Private, non-aasted schools in the national capital are constantly receiving complaints from parents about ‘irregular and inappropriate’ fees. Now parents are likely to get relief from this decision of the government.

 

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed strong displeasure over the arbitrary fees hike by private schools in Delhi and in this background, the Delhi government has taken a big decision to control school fees. The Cabinet of the Delhi government has approved the ‘School Fees Act’ introduced by Education Minister Ashish Sood. This bill will now be introduced in the Legislative Assembly.

Chief Minister’s strict attitude

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently expressed displeasure over the increase in fees in private schools, saying that no effort to commercialize in the education sector would be tolerated. He also clarified that the new government will make every effort to protect the interests of students in Delhi.

Education Minister accused the opposition party

Speaking in this regard, Education Minister Ashish Sood said that there are schools of school knowledge. He alleged that the previous government committed corruption through private schools. Targeting former Education Minister Manish Sisodia, Sood said that if he has any evidence of corruption, he should come directly to the media and not make false allegations against the government. This decision has been taken in view of the complaints coming for years of parents, and this law is likely to be implemented soon.
