The Supreme Court judges have agreed to explain the details of their assets. This decision was taken in a meeting of judges held in the country’s apex court.
In this meeting, 30 judges, including Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna, agreed to make public the details of their property on the official website of the Supreme Court. According to the Supreme Court website, in the meeting held on 1 April, the judges pledged that whenever a judge would take over or take over an important responsibility, he will have to declare the details of his property before the Chief Justice. Till now, according to a 1997 proposal, judges of the Supreme Court had to declare their assets before the Chief Justice. A decision of 2009 allowed voluntary disclosure of properties on the court website.
