Indian Air Force Chief AP Singh has expressed concern over the delay in delivery of Tejas fighter aircraft. He said that after the order for Tejas fighter aircraft was placed in the year 2009-10, the Air Force has not yet received the delivery of the first batch of 40 fighter aircraft.
At the same time, while addressing the 21st Subarto Mukherjee Seminar, he also expressed concern about the lack of efforts being made by the neighboring country like China towards modernization of the Air Force. India’s enemy country China is spending heavily to modernize the Air Force. Therefore, India will also have to increase its production capacity. He said that it is not just a matter of numbers, technology will also have to develop rapidly. The Air Force chief made this comment days after China tested its sixth-generation stealth fighter jet. AP Singh said that the first Tejas aircraft was flown in 2001 but it took so many years to join the Air Force. The Air Force has not even been able to get its first aircraft till 2024.
