Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone made a rare and graceful appearance at WAVES 2025, World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit, held in Mumbai on Thursday (May 1), marking one of her first big public outings since welcoming her baby girl. The actress arrived early at the event, joining the likes of veteran actress Hema Malini and Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga.
Dressed in an elegant sand-coloured salwar suit paired with sleek peep-toe heels, Deepika looked effortlessly poised. Her signature slicked-back hair and minimal makeup completed the look, making her one of the standout attendees of the evening.
Photos and videos of her arrival quickly made their way across social media platforms, with fans celebrating her return to the public eye.
However, all eyes were on a sweet moment that followed shortly after her entry. While everything about her ensemble seemed flawless at first glance, Deepika faced a slight wardrobe mishap when her dupatta slipped out of place. In a gesture that has since gone viral, Mira Rajput Kapoor, entrepreneur and wife of actor Shahid Kapoor, stepped in to help.
A now-viral video shows Mira assisting Deepika by pinning the dupatta in place. They exchanged warm smiles and shared a quick hug, offering a rare glimpse of camaraderie and mutual respect between them.
WAVES 2025, which brings together global figures from the audio-visual and entertainment industries, saw an impressive start.
Besides Deepika, other celebrities who attended the event are Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Rajinikanth, Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Saif Ali Khan, Jackie Shroff, Manushi Chhillar, Shaan, AR Rahman, Chiranjeevi, Karan Johar, SS Rajamouli, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Amruta Khanvilkar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Farhan Akhtar, Boney Kapoor and others.
The four-day Summit with the tagline ‘Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries’ will witness the presence of several other Bollywood celebrities as well. It is set to redefine India’s role in the global entertainment landscape.
The grand opening at the NMACC Grand Theatre, Bandra, marked by a performance from a 50-piece orchestra under the direction of Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravaani, setting a majestic tone for the days to follow.
