New Delhi: The decomposed body of a 24-year-old woman was discovered hidden inside a bed in her rented accommodation in Delhiās Dabri area of Dwarka district on Friday, January 3. After initial investigation, the deceased woman was identified as Deepa. Police suspect her husband, Dhanraj, of murdering her, concealing the body, and fleeing the scene.
Deepa’s Decomposed Body Found Inside Bedroom
The incident came to light when local police received an alert about the suspected murder. Upon arriving at the rented house in Dabri, located in Delhi’s Dwarka, a police team recovered Deepa’s body from a bed in their bedroom. The condition of the body indicated it had been decomposing for several days, a senior officer told PTI news agency.
Deepa had been living with her husband, Dhanraj, whom she married five years ago. Preliminary investigations suggest that Dhanraj fled the scene after committing the crime. Deepa’s father, Ashok Chauhan, later filed a complaint, leading the police to register a case of murder against Dhanraj.
Efforts Underway To Locate Dhanraj & Arrest Him
According to officials, the couple’s two-year-old child was not present at the scene of the crime and is currently in the custody of Deepa’s maternal uncle. It remains unclear what triggered the incident, but authorities have launched a manhunt to locate and arrest the suspect. Multiple teams have been formed to pursue Dhanraj and gather more details about the circumstances that led to the murder.
Police are investigating all angles, including potential domestic disputes or financial issues, to establish the motive behind the crime. Meanwhile, as per reports, the neighbours in the area expressed their disbelief, stating that the couple appeared to have been living a normal life.
