Population is decreasing in 10 countries: Last year, India came first among the most populous countries in the world and China reached second place. In which India’s birth rate in 2024 is 2.03. There are some countries in the world which are worried about the falling birth rate. In such countries, the government is preparing to start a campaign to increase the population. Let us know which are those 10 countries where population is decreasing.

Taiwan-South Korea top position in population decline

Taiwan and South Korea are at the top in the crisis of population decline. In which the average birth rate of both the countries is 1.1. In which the replacement level is less than the sustainable population standard of 2.1. The number of childless couples has increased rapidly in both the countries. Due to which the crisis regarding population is increasing. Whereas in South Korea a separate ministry has been created for population. On the other hand, war-torn Ukraine has created a commodity crisis. The average birth rate in Ukraine is about 1.2. Apart from Ukraine, the situation is similar in Hong Kong and Macau.

Population has also decreased in these countries

The population of European countries Italy, Spain and Poland is also decreasing instead of increasing. The average birth rate here is only 1.3. Now if we talk about the Asian country Japan, the birth rate here is only 1.4. A Japanese minister had said last year that, ‘If this situation continues, we will have to face an existential crisis.’ In which the Japanese government is strengthening the institution of marriage and encouraging people to have children. Apart from Japan, the birth rate in countries like Belarus, Greece, Mauritius is only 1.4.

Global birth rate will also decline after 2100

The world’s population has increased rapidly in the last few centuries. According to a report, the world’s population will continue to increase till the year 2100, but there will be a crisis in some countries where people will not be able to have children. But after 2100, the global birth rate will also decline and the population will begin to decline. Let us tell you that in the last 200 years the world population has increased seven times. This has been the most significant period in global history when the population has ever increased so rapidly.
