Dearness Allowance will increase next month: Inflation has increased wildly and in July last month, retail inflation had reached a record high of 15 months. Dearness Allowance will increase next month

According to reports, there may be a 3 per cent increase in Dearness Allowance, after which it will reach 45 per cent. The new DA hike will be effective from 1st July 2023. Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) is fixed every month for employees and pensioners.

Dearness Allowance Hike in July

It is determined on the basis of the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) of the Labor Bureau. This bureau is a wing of the Labor Ministry. At present, more than 1 crore central government employees and pensioners get 42 percent DA (DA Hike). Explain that government employees get Dearness Allowance while pensioners get DR (Dearness Relief). It is extended twice a year.

Last time in March 2023, DA was increased by 4 percent (DA Hike) to 42 percent. This time also, considering the current inflation, there can be an increase of 4 percent. However, Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of All India Railwaymen’s Federation had recently said that the CPI-IW of June 2023 for Dearness Allowance came on 31st July!

Dearness Allowance Hike by 4%

Accordingly, there was a demand for a 4 percent increase in DA, but the government is considering a DA Hike of just over 3 percent. He said that the Finance Ministry will prepare a proposal for an increase in DA according to its revenue in its Expenditure Department and then present this Dearness Allowance proposal before the Union Cabinet for approval.
