Islamabad, 09 July (HS). Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority has been accused of leaking data of prominent military officers and civilians. Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee has directed the Home Ministry to conduct a joint probe into the data breach.

Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee Chairman MNA Noor Alam Khan said that Pakistan Telecom Authority, Federal Investigation Agency and Military Intelligence should also be included in the probe team. Khan has said that everyone’s personal data is available on the internet. He asked how it got leaked. Khan directed the authority to block the data online.

The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament disclosed this in a meeting convened on Thursday to review audit objections for the year 2019-20 relating to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. It has been said in the meeting that the persons responsible for the data leak should be held accountable and made public.
