Chandigarh: On the lines of Central Government employees and retired employees, now in Haryana too, government employees and pensioners drawing salary and pension as per the Fifth and Sixth Pay Commission will get more Dearness Allowance (DA). The dearness allowance of employees and pensioners taking benefits of the Sixth Pay Commission has been increased by seven percent. They will now get 246 percent DA instead of 239 percent. According to the Fifth Pay Commission, the DA of salaried employees and pensioners has been increased by 12 percent. They will now get 455 percent dearness allowance instead of 443 percent. Dearness allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2024
On November 15, the Central Government had increased the DA of the Fifth and Sixth Pay Commission employees. After this, in Haryana also, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department, Anurag Rastogi issued orders for increase in dearness allowance on Wednesday. The increased dearness allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2024. A total of four months of arrears from July to October will be paid along with the salary and pension received in January, while the increased DA will be included in the salary and pension received in November next month.
Seventh Pay Commission implemented in Haryana
The Seventh Pay Commission has been implemented in Haryana, but still a large number of employees and pensioners are taking salary and pension as per the Fifth and Sixth Pay Commission. According to the Seventh Pay Commission, dearness allowance of about three lakh salaried employees and two lakh 60 thousand pensioners has already been increased from 50 percent to 53 percent.
