Da hike: The Tripura government has given great relief to state employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday announced an increase of 3% in dearness allowance (DA). This increase will be applicable from 1 April 2025. After this increase, state government employees will now get 33% DA, which was 30% earlier. The Chief Minister said in the Assembly that this decision will put an additional financial burden of Rs 300 crore annually on the government.
Attempt to reduce DA difference between central and state employees
Chief Minister Saha said that the government wants to reduce the difference between the DA of state and central government employees. However, this process will be gradually completed. This decision will provide relief to thousands of government employees and pensioners of Tripura.
Central employees wait for DA hike
More than 1 crore central employees and pensioners of the country are eagerly awaiting DA hike. DA is expected to increase by 2%. If this happens, the dearness allowance will increase from 53% to 55%. However, the demand for employee organizations has increased by 3%, which can lead to DA 56%. Last year, in October 2024, the government increased DA by 3%, increasing it from 50% to 53%. Now if the government increases by 2%, then DA will be 55% and it can go up to 56% if there is an increase of 3%.
