7th Pay Commission: Central employees are waiting for dearness allowance (DA). Meanwhile, announcements are being made in the states regarding dearness allowance. In this context, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced a three percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees since April this year. With this three percent increase in DA, Tripura government employees will get 33 percent DA.

Chief Minister Manik Saha said in the assembly that I am announcing three percent DA for government employees and pensioners from April 1, 2025. With this, the DA of state government employees will increase from 30 percent to 33 percent. For this, the government will have to bear an additional financial burden of Rs 300 crore annually.

He said that the government wants to reduce the difference of dearness allowance between the employees of the state government and the central government employees. He said that this work will be done gradually. Earlier, states like Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Jharkhand have also announced an increase in the allowance of their government employees.

The decision has not been taken to increase the dearness allowance (DA) and inflation relief (DR) for central employees and pensioners. This increase will be for six months from January to June. Employees expected a big announcement before Holi but it did not happen. Let us tell you that this allowance directly related to the basic salary of the government employee is extended twice a year. The government amends dearness allowance to reduce the impact of inflation on employees and pensioners.

It is believed that this time the dearness allowance will increase by 2%. If this happens, the dearness allowance will increase from 53% to 55%. Let us tell you that DA is expected to increase by 2% on the basis of AICPI (All India Consumer Price Index Data) for July-December 2024.
