The Customs team had recovered narcotic substances in a flower pot and an almirah at the residence of actor-turned-politician Ajaz Khan. The Customs team then made inquiries with Khan’s wife Fallon about the said narcotics substance, who denied having any knowledge about the same. The agency is also probing a well established drugs supply network originating from Amsterdam having links with the accused persons involved in the case.
According to the Customs sources, when they reached the Jogeshwari residence of Khan on Wednesday night, they faced initial resistance from a few local people. With the assistance of local police, the Customs team managed to enter Khan’s flat. The team now had an uphill task to trace the narcotics substance which they suspected were hidden in the residence. The officers then fanned out across the flat and began searching every nook and corner of the residence in a night long operation.
The officers were left amazed when they recovered drugs hidden deep inside a flower pot and in a cavity of an almirah, The said contraband was then seized and was later sent for forensic examination. The officers suspect the seized contraband to be charas and MD. The agency sleuths also seized cash Rs 11 lakh from the premises. The investigation team then made inquiries with Fallon about the presence of narcotics substance, but she claimed no knowledge about the said articles.
The officers had also seized Fallon’s mobile phone which will be examined for further leads. Fallon was then produced before a local court on Thursday which remanded her to 14 days judicial custody. The sources also said that they might summon Khan for inquiries soon.
On October 08, the Customs officials had arrested Khan’s peon Suraj Gaud after a controlled delivery operation for allegedly ordering 100 grams of MD through a courier. The drugs were to be delivered to an Andheri based office address reportedly linked to Khan. The agency sources also claimed that Gaud had met Khan in jail and after the former’s release, he was employed by Khan. Gaud has told the Customs officers that the drugs used to be ordered and collected through him.
