When the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament was not started, there was a conflict between India and Pakistan. The hybrid model was eventually adopted for Team India, due to which its matches were held in Dubai.
According to the program, the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 was to be played in Lahore, but after India reached the final, the final has been replaced from Lahore to Dubai. Due to this change, the Pakistan Cricket Board may have to suffer heavy losses.
Indo-Pak loss of crores in finals
According to media reports, the ICC has approved a total budget of Rs 586 crore for the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament. A total of 15 matches were to be played in the tournament and a budget of about Rs 39 crore was kept for each match. So far, 4 matches including India’s semi -finals have been played in Dubai, while according to the original program, these four matches were to be played in Pakistan. PCB has so far lost Rs 156 crore due to the four matches of the Indian team. Since India has reached the final, it will be played in Dubai. Due to this, Pakistan’s total loss is expected to reach Rs 195 crore.
Pakistan faced disappointment
This ground was earlier renewed in Pakistan. Earlier, it was planned to spend Rs 500 crore for renewal of plains in Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore. The PCB hoped that the ground would be filled with the audience after the construction was completed, but less people came to watch the match than expected. The Pakistan group was out in the stage itself and two matches were canceled due to rain, causing the situation to worse. The PCB also had to return the ticket money for the canceled matches without toss at the Rawalpindi ground.
