South Africa has made it to the semi -finals of the Champions Trophy 2025. With this, the expectations of Afghanistan reaching the semi -finals have collapsed. The England team has already been ruled out of the semi -finals of the Champions Trophy.

South Africa dismissed England for 179 in 38.2 overs in their third-final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and qualified for the semi-finals without batting. Afghanistan needed to win by a margin of at least 207 runs to stay in the race for knockouts, but England could not even touch the 200 runs figures.

Joe Root scored the highest 37 runs for England. Jofra Archer contributed 25 runs, Ben Docket contributed 24 runs and Jose Butler contributed 21 runs. Marco Jenson and Vian Mulder took three wickets each, while Keshav Maharaj dismissed two batsmen. Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Angidi took one wicket each.

The England team has been out of the tournament after losing to Australia and Afghanistan in their last matches. South Africa defeated Afghanistan and their match with Australia was canceled.
