CSMC To Seize Properties And Fine Printers For Illegal Hoardings In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar |

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) has taken a stern stand against the illegal hoardings and banners defacing the city. A decision has been made that the properties of printers who print hoardings and banners without CSMC permission will be seized. Additionally, a fine will be imposed on the printers, informed Municipal Commissioner and Administrator G. Shreekanth. A campaign to remove the illegal hoardings and banners in the city will be initiated soon, he said.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, at a function held in the city on Sunday, pointed out the issue of the city being defaced by hoardings and banners along the roads. Following the incident, CSMC went into action mode and called a meeting with political activists and printers on Monday. A petitioner who filed a public-interest litigation (PIL) against the illegal hoardings in the city in the High Court, Savita Kulkarni, Bharti Bhandekar, Rahul Salve, Sachin Mahapure, and others were present.

Shreekanth directed the municipal corporation officers to initiate a drive against the illegal hoardings. He emphasized that not a single banner should be seen on the streetlight posts in the city. The posters of national heroes should be removed with care, so as not to desecrate the images of great men. The hoardings of all political leaders should also be removed.

Shreekanth also warned that the properties of printers who print posters and hoardings without the permission of the corporation will be sealed.

Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of political parties were absent from the meeting held on Monday. The petitioners strongly stated their position and mentioned that the administration should take stern action against the illegal hoardings in the city. They demanded that cases be registered with the concerned police stations.
