Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: CSMC Presents Rs 3083.40 Crore Budget, No Property Tax Hike, Rs 822 Crore for Regularising Water Supply |
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) Administrator G Srikanth has presented a budget of Rs 3083.40 crore for the financial year 2025-26 on Thursday, but without any increase in any type of taxes.
However, a provision has been made to take a loan of Rs 822 crore for regularizing the water supply. This is the fourth budget presented by the administrator.
In order to reduce the wastage of water, smart meters will be installed in each house. For the water supply and drainage system, a provision of Rs 190 crore has been made for the West Assembly constituency, Rs 131 crore for the East Assembly constituency, Rs 186 crore for the Central Assembly constituency, and Rs 275 crore for the Satara – Deolai area.
Rs 20 crore has been proposed for the new roads. In all, 34 innovative schemes have been included in the budget. Rs 15.59 lakh has been shown as surplus in the budget.
The residents will get around 6% to 10% concession in taxes through the seven-star scheme if they fulfill the following criteria: plantation, segregation of wet and dry garbage, water harvesting, solar energy, e-vehicle, properties in the name of women, and online tax-payment.
Provisions for residents have been made for smart water meters, an increase in water tax only after regularization of the water supply, two double-decker buses, and a Kabaddi indoor stadium.
