Agra: In a horrific incident, a newborn was found abandoned at Agra Cantt Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The baby appeared to have born few moments ago as the umbilical cord was still intact when the people found the baby lying on the floor at the waiting room. The mother of the child left the newborn abandoned at the station and disappeared after leaving the child on the floor.

The people present at the railway station were surprised after they heard the faint cries of the infant. They started looking around for the baby, however, they were shocked to see that the baby was lying outside the waiting room of the railway station. The people reported the incident to the Cantt GRP (Government Railway Police), after which the female police personnel arrived at the spot and took the baby into their custody.

They took the baby to the SN Medical College where the infant’s umbilical chord was cut. The baby was admitted to the ICU war of the hospital and it is being reported that the condition of the newborn is stable.

There are reports that the GRP claimed that the incident occurred on Sunday (December 1) night when an unidentified woman gave birth to the baby outside the toilet of the waiting room and left immediately after the birth of the child. The police have registered a case and have initiated a search operation to nab the mother of the newborn. There are reports that the female police officers have taken the baby into their care.

A video has surfaced on the internet in which it can be seen that the GRP female police officers are holding the baby into their arms and taking the newborn to the hospital for immediate medical help. The people present at the railway station showed interest in taking care of the baby and requested the officers to hand over the baby to them.
