Mumbai: Acting on a tip-off from encounter specialist Daya Nayak, the Crime Branch’s Unit 9 arrested four Bangladeshi nationals, including one woman, from Mumbai’s Juhu area on Wednesday. The accused had been living in India without valid documentation and falsely claimed Indian citizenship when questioned.

The Arrested Accused are identified as Poppy Titu Hussain (30, female), Mohammad Tatu Sofiuddin Hussain (25), Noor Islam Makbul (55) and Faisal Biku Mulla Sheikh (31). According to the FIR registered at the Juhu Police Station, police received information about the presence of Bangladeshi nationals in the vicinity.

A team was dispatched, following all required protocols, and the suspects were approached. A woman officer handled the female accused during the operation, ensuring procedural compliance. When asked to produce proof of Indian citizenship, the suspects claimed they were Indian but failed to recite the national anthem when requested.

Further inspection revealed they had no valid documents to substantiate their claims, leading to their arrest under relevant sections of BNS. The police are continuing their investigation into their activities and possible connections to other illegal immigration networks. Authorities have also alerted immigration officials for further action.
