News India Live, Digital Desk, Covid-19 latest cases: On May 23, 45 new cases of Kovid were reported in Maharashtra. Of these, 35 cases were from Mumbai, 4 from Pune, 2-2 from Kolhapur and Raigad and one from Latur and Thane.
A total of 6,819 people have been investigated in Maharashtra since January 2025. Of these, 210 people were found positive. The maximum number of cases in the state have been seen in Mumbai, a total of 183 cases have been reported. Of these, 81 patients have been cured while others have seen mild symptoms.
23 cases of Kovid were reported in Delhi
Apart from Maharashtra, new cases have also been reported from other states. On May 23, a nine -month -old child was found infected in Bengaluru. A new case also came up in Telangana, while four cases were reported in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The number of active cases of Kovid in Delhi has increased to 23. Health Minister Pankaj Singh reviewed the situation and instructed the Health Department to take all necessary steps to be vigilant and control the infection.
Kovid’s highest number of cases registered in Kerala
Kovid has the highest number of cases in Kerala this month, so far 273 cases have been reported in May. Due to the increasing number, health officials have been asked to increase vigilance and increase monitoring efforts.
Globally, Kovid cases are increasing in countries such as Thailand, China, Hong Kong and Singapore. A new variant called JN.1 is currently the most common cause of infection. Symptoms such as smell in the nose, cough, headache, fever and lack of odor appear due to this variant.
