Crew of a Swiss International Airlines (formerly Swiss Air) flight is under fire over leak of an X-rated video showing a couple having sex inside the plane. The airline has now launched a probe for ‘privacy violation’. Media reports say that the incident of the couple getting intimate onboard the plane occurred in November 2024 during a 12-hour Bangkok-Zurich flight LX181.
The couple reportedly engaged in the sexual act in the kitchen area near the First Class of the plane. A camera near the cockpit recorded the act.
Notably, the concerned camera can only display live images and cannot record footage for later viewing. But someone in the cockpit, pilot or one of the other crew members, recorded the video on their mobile device.
The video has now leaked.
The airline has reacted sharply over the incident.
“The filming of people without their clear consent as well as the transfer of these recordings contradict our guidelines and values and violate the applicable data protection regulations,” said spokesperson Meike Fuhlrott as quoted by the Daily Mail.
Fuhlrott further said that instead of recording, the crew should have ‘intervened directly’.
“Our crews are known for their professionalism. We trust in the competence of our crews and are convinced of their abilities,” she reportedly said further.
“We want to know exactly what happened and how these recordings came out,” she said as quoted by Daily Mail.
The airline has assured the public that staff found involved in recording and leaking the video will be disciplined.
Swiss International Airlines also expressed its displeasure over behaviour of the couple who engaged in the sexual act.
“Such acts are unacceptable. The behaviour of our passengers is usually respectful and appropriate,” said the airline.
