Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Counselling for paramedical courses for the academic year 2023-24 will commence on March 1 at Gandhi Medical College (GMC and will continue until March 13.
The GMC has released the official schedule for the counseling process. The eligibility criteria for the courses include a BSc in Biology with Zoology for the Post Graduate Diploma in Perfusion Technology, a specialized program teaching students how to operate heart-lung machines and other life-support equipment.
Additionally, for other courses, candidates must have completed 10+2 or Standard 12 with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry (PCB).
Earlier, a controversy had arisen regarding candidates from the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) stream, who were initially denied admission to paramedical courses.
However, in a recent ruling, the High Court instructed the authorities to ensure the inclusion of PCM candidates who have successfully passed the examinations.
This ruling aligns with admission practices in other states, where students from the PCM stream are eligible for courses such as Diploma in Physiotherapy (DPT), Diploma in Radiology Imaging Technology (DRIT), and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT).
