Avoid these mistakes while measuring blood pressure

Relax 5 minutes before measuring blood pressure
Let the person sit calm and stable before measuring BP. The 5 -minute rest stabilizes the heartbeat, which gives the right reading.

Do not measure BP after tea, coffee and exercise
Do not take tea, coffee, cigarette, soda or anything containing any caffeine 30 minutes before BP check, as they can temporarily increase blood pressure.

It is necessary to pass urine
Urine before measuring BP. The filled bladder can increase BP to 20-25 points.

Sit in the right position

  • Sit straight and relaxed on the chair.

  • Do not cross the legs and keep it straight on the floor.

  • Keep the arm comfortably on the table.

Apply BP machine phlegm correctly

  • Do not tie the cuff over the clothes.

  • Fits it on the upper side, but do not tighten so that two fingers cannot go inside.

  • Avoid speaking or moving during reading.

Measure BP twice and remove average
Measure BP twice at intervals of 1-2 minutes and take average of both. If there is a greater difference between the two readings, measure the third time.

Right time to measure blood pressure

  • Empty stomach in the morning (before breakfast).

  • At the same time in the evening.

  • Measuring at the same time daily causes accurate trekking.
