New Delhi: A big controversy has arisen due to the news of the fire personnel who went to extinguish the fire in the house of Delhi High Court Judge Yashwant Verma. After this incident, the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court started the investigation. At the same time, amidst the dispute, the Supreme Court collegium clarified that a proposal was received to transfer Justice Yashwant Verma, about which no final decision has been taken yet. The ongoing investigation against them should not be associated with the transfer process.
According to reports, during Holi on March 14, a fire broke out in the government bungalow of Delhi High Court Justice Yashwant Verma. Justice Verma was not present at the house at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, his family members immediately informed the Delhi Fire Service, after which both the fire department employees and the police reached the spot. Firefighters who went to extinguish the fire received cash in a room, which was allegedly worth millions of rupees. There are also reports that the police reached the spot and made a video of it. Chief Justice of Delhi High Court D.K. A. Upadhyay’s attention was attracted.
The lawyers requested the Chief Justice of the High Court, Upadhyay, that the matter is shocking and appropriate action should be taken so that no such incident will happen in the future. In response, the Chief Justice said, “I am also shocked like you.” We are monitoring the whole matter. On the other hand, there were reports earlier that he was shifted to Allahabad High Court after getting cash from Justice Verma’s house. When this transaction was linked to the cash grab incident, the Supreme Court Collegium gave clarification and issued some statements.
According to the report, in a statement issued by the Supreme Court collegium, the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court had conducted an in-house inquiry before the Supreme Court Collegium meeting on March 20, whose report will be placed before the Supreme Court Collegium, on the basis of which further action will be taken. There is no connection with each other to the proposal for the transfer of Justice Verma and the investigation of the Delhi High Court. There are rumors that the Supreme Court Collegium has also sought a reply on the proposal of transfer from Justice Verma as well as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court and Allahabad High Court. After examining these answers, the next resolution will be passed. On the other hand, the report of the fire brigade has come out about this entire incident, which does not mention any kind of cash. Delhi fire service chief Atul Garg said that no cash was found during the fire in the judge’s house.
