New Delhi: (Shoaib Akhtar Champions Trophy) Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has increased the controversy of Champions Trophy with his statement. Pakistan was given the right to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 but the venue and schedule have not been decided yet.
BCCI handed over this tournament to ICC (Champions Trophy 2025) For this, the Indian team has been clearly refused permission to go to Pakistan. ICC is now planning to organize this tournament under the ‘hybrid model’.
Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar has given a big statement. He has said that I do not want to make too many statements about not going to India. I want our team to go to India and defeat them there.
Controversy has increased due to Shoaib Akhtar’s statement
In fact, former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has supported the decision of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) demanding more revenue share for the Champions Trophy, as now the tournament will be played in a hybrid model. However, one issue on which Akhtar disagrees with the board is the Pakistan team’s decision not to play in future ICC events in India.
While talking to a Pakistani channel in this episode, Akhtar said that it is fine to get hosting rights and revenue. We all understand this. Pakistan’s stand is also valid. He should have maintained a strong position. After all, we are hosting the Champions Trophy in our country and they (India) are not ready to come.
But Akhtar believes that the PCB should not stop the Pakistan team from traveling to India for ICC events in future. However, they will have to prepare the team in such a way that Pakistan returns after defeating India on its soil.
Akhtar said, “If we talk about playing in India in future then we should extend the hand of friendship and go there. I have always believed that go to India and beat them there. Play in India and beat them there. Defeat it.” “I know the hybrid model had already been agreed upon.”
