BJP candidate from Kalkaji seat of Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri has once again created a political controversy with his controversial statements. This time he made objectionable remarks on Delhi CM candidate and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi.
Controversial statement on Atishi
“Atishi is running around in the streets like a deer,” Bidhuri said during an election rally in Kalkaji. Taking aim at the water supply of the AAP government, he said that people in Delhi are facing the problem of dirty water, and in view of the elections after four months, Atishi is showing off.
Comment on Priyanka Gandhi
Earlier, while giving a controversial statement on Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, Ramesh Bidhuri had said, “Just as the roads of Okhla and Sangam Vihar have been built, I will make the roads of Kalkaji like the cheeks of Priyanka Gandhi.” Bidhuri had apologized after receiving heavy criticism after this comment.
“Atishi has changed her father”
In another statement, Bidhuri had said, “Atishi has changed her father. Now she has become a lion from Marlena.” AAP Party and other opposition parties expressed strong opposition to this statement also.
Atishi’s emotional answer
After these statements, Atishi said emotionally in the press conference, “BJP leaders are attacking my 80-year-old ailing father. How can politics be so dirty?” He expressed disappointment at such personal attacks.
AAP and opposition attack BJP
Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal targeted BJP and said, “BJP leaders have crossed all limits of shamelessness. The people of Delhi will not tolerate the insult of a woman Chief Minister.”
political atmosphere hot
These controversial statements of Ramesh Bidhuri have heated up the politics of Delhi. Opposition parties have called it a symbol of disrespect towards women and the falling level of politics. At the same time, BJP has not yet given any official response on this matter.
It is clear from the criticism on Bidhuri’s statement that personal attacks and controversial comments in the election environment have further lowered the level of politics.
