Mumbai – For the convenience of tourists, escalator facilities have been provided at every railway station by spending lakhs of rupees. But, due to these escalators being closed many times, tourists have to face a lot of difficulties in climbing up and down. However, the escalator at Keborivali railway station stops frequently. It has also been alleged that porters were seen taking advantage of the situation and charging double the money at times as the escalators were directly benefiting from the closure of the escalators. If this problem is not resolved, the association has taken the initiative to complain to the PMO.
Escalators make it easier for the elderly, children and pregnant women. Besides, it becomes easier to travel with luggage even when traveling from outside the village. But, express trains from outside the village arrive on the platform of Borivali station. Therefore, the escalator here is closed when outside trains arrive or depart. The Railway Association alleges that despite continuous repairs by the Railway Administration, it is being closed again and again.
Giving information about this, Saurashtra Passenger Association Secretary Nitin Vora told ‘Gujarat Samachar’ that ‘trains coming from many states including Gujarat stop at Borivali station. Therefore, the number of tourists coming here with luggage is high. When a train going out of the city is about to arrive on the platform, the escalator is closed for some time.
When the train arrives, a large number of porters come and stand there. Taking advantage of the closure of escalators, double the amount is collected from tourists. Recently more than 90 passengers traveling by Tejas Express have faced this situation and I myself have faced this problem many times. The escalator stopped as soon as the train arrived. Therefore, he tried to get it started by informing the railway police present there. So the tourists went up the stairs with difficulty. At that time many people were victims of huge sums of money by Kulli
Describing it as sad, Nitin Vora said that railway passengers are facing a lot of problems and no attention is being given to it, it is a waste of time along with mental and physical stress for the railway passengers. I also complained to the station manager but did not get a proper response. The problems of tourists are not being paid attention to. Therefore, the Prime Minister will be informed about this problem and Piyush Goyal will also be informed in writing. We are not going to remain silent until this problem is solved and the conspiracy is ended.
