Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In the budget session of the state assembly beginning today, the Congress is set to corner the government with an adjournment motion on disproportionate assets amassed by former Transport Department constable Saurabh Sharma, sources said on Sunday.
At a Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting, party legislators met under the leadership of state in-charge Harish Chaudhary, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Umang Singhar, and state party president Jitu Patwari to form their strategy to corner the state government.
On the issue of Sharma’s disproportionate assets case, the MLA may demand an enquiry of the gold and cash found in a car in the Mandori area. The Congress will also seek to know what abbreviations such as TC, and TM mentioned in the diary. Congress legislators are also set to raise the issue of alleged corruption in utensil purchase in the Women and Child Development Department.
The other issues on the Congress radar are: Incomplete work of Nal Jal Mission, the nursing, appointments in universities, paddy procurement scam across the state, and liquor scam. They will also bring up issues related to farmers, unemployment, and crimes against women.
The MLAs will also raise the issue of cases registered against them in police stations, and courts, demanding guidelines on them. In this regard, sources pointed out that the state Economic Offences Wing has registered a case against MLA Hemant Katare, legislative Keshav Desai has been threatened, and a petition has been filed against LoPSinghar.
