Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Congress leaders here on Wednesday staged demonstration in front of ED office carrying a parrot in cage, symbolising that Enforcement Directorate is a caged parrot, acting at behest of union government.
The Congress leaders condemned the Enforcement Directorate for naming Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as accused in the chargesheet filed in National Herald case, calling it a political conspiracy and attempt by BJP to suppress people’s voice.

As the Congress leaders led by state party president Jitu Patwari reached ED office, the police raised the barricades, closed the gate and stopped entry in the office. The Congress leaders lay down on the road in scorching heat in protest.
The police had covered the ED name board, which the Congress leaders tried to remove. The police stopped their bid. Later, the parrot and the cage were handed over to police personnel. Earlier, Patwari told media that the BJP was resorting to vendetta due to political rivalry. He added that BJP attacked the democratic system by targeting Opposition leaders through central agencies, he alleged.
