Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): During Zero Hour amid the ongoing assembly session, Omkar Singh Markam raised the encounter issue and alleged that tribals were being killed under the pretext of being Naxalites.
Other Congress MLAs joined him and rushed to the well, demanding justice in the case. They raised slogans to press their demand. Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar asked the Congress MLAs to return to their seats and cooperate in running the House. He also informed them that he had accepted the adjournment motion on the issue and, after receiving a response from the government, would conduct a discussion on it.
However, the Congress MLAs remained adamant and continued sloganeering. Later, they staged a dharna in the well. When their demands were not addressed, they staged a walkout from the Assembly.
Former Minister and Congress MLA Lakhan Ghangoriya raised the issue of the gruesome murder of members of a family in Jabalpur in the Assembly. Minister of State, Home Department, Narendra Shivaji Patel said that the accused have been arrested in the case, and harsh sections, such as the section seeking capital punishment, have been imposed against them.
PWD Minister Rakesh Singh and BJP MLA Abhilash Pandey also joined the discussion and said that the incident was barbaric in nature. Only two daughters-in-law, one elder person, and children are left in the family.
At the request that the government shall provide a job to the two daughters-in-law in Anganwadi or in some other government agency, the Speaker asked Parliamentary Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya to acquaint the CM about the feeling of the House, so that the government can provide the necessary help to the victims.
