Congress Leaders Leave Collectorate Without Submitting Memo, They Were Angry That Collector Did Not Come To Meet Them | FPJ
Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): Congress leaders and workers visited Khandwa Collector Rishav Gupta’s office on Tuesday to submit a memorandum addressing the Governor regarding various pressing issues in the city.
However, the Congressmen became angry when the collector did not come out to receive their memorandum and left without giving it to him.
The memorandum aimed to address several serious public problems affecting Khandwa. One major concern is the ongoing drinking water crisis, where frequent pipeline bursts of the Narmada pipeline have caused significant distress among residents. The Congress party demanded a permanent solution to this issue and called for the cancellation of an FIR against women and leaders who protested for water access.
Additionally, the Congress members raised concerns about increasing number of stray dogs in the city, which have led to complaints of bites and accidents. They also highlighted problem of encroachment by footpath vendors and carts, urging the need for rehabilitation to ensure public convenience.
Traffic chaos has been another long-standing issue, with heavy vehicles passing through the city due to absence of a bypass, resulting in accidents. The Congress party called for construction of a Khandwa Ring Road to solve this problem. Prominent Congress figures, including former MLA Rajnarayan Singh and Leader of Opposition Deepak Rathore were present.
