Raipur: For the All India Congress Committee (AICC) convention to be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on April 8 and 9, Congress constituted a 15-member drafting committee. Former Chief Minister and National General Secretary Bhupesh Baghel and General Secretary in-charge of Chhattisgarh Sachin Pilot have been included in the committee.
Randeep Surjewala has been appointed as the convenor.
As per the information received, the committee will draft the issues for the national convention , future strategies including preparation for upcoming elections, party’s stand on political, economic and social issues, further strengthen the party’s manifesto, prepare a response against rival and ruling party’s flaws with evidence. It has been informed more than 3,000 leaders will attend the Ahmedabad Convention.
The main objective of the convention is to strengthen the policies of the Congress, strengthen the organisational structure and decide the strategy for the upcoming elections, a Congress spokesperson said.
The Convention has a meeting with the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on April 8, followed by a meeting of AICC delegates on April 9. Moreover, these important meetings will be presided over by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states will also be present at the
