In the Rajasthan Assembly elections, Congress is stuck in the matter of giving ticket to the MLA facing anti-incumbency, due to which no decision could be taken in the four-hour long Central Election Committee meeting on Monday. Rahul Gandhi has shown his attitude by insisting on canceling the tickets of anti-incumbency MLAs. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is unable to respond to his stance. Due to this, the list of candidates could not be released on Monday and now the meeting will be held again on Tuesday.

A major reason for Rahul Gandhi’s displeasure is why all the candidates have not been finalized yet. In the Central Election Committee meeting on Monday, Rahul asked questions to Gehlot that three months ago, Gehlot had taken the central leadership into confidence that there was no anti-incumbency against the government in the state. The public is angry with some MLAs and the resentment is limited to only a few seats, but as the names of the candidates are being announced, the displeasure of the party workers in the state is also coming to the fore.

Rahul Gandhi’s question to Ashok Gehlot

In the election committee meeting of Congress, Rahul Gandhi asked Gaurav Gogoi that if we are in favor of cutting the tickets of all the anti-incumbency MLAs, then why are these names there. Along with this, while reminding Gehlot of his words, he asked that three months ago you were saying that there is no resentment against our government… and today you are saying that there is no option left for him on that seat? He also asked that if it was so, then why did you not prepare a second line on those seats?

‘Why not prepare a second line on the unhappy seats?’

What Congress leader Rahul means is that in the assembly seats where there was resentment against the MLAs and CM Gehlot was also aware about it, then why were new people not given a chance there. Today you are giving tickets to all the MLAs, even where the party had an option, you did not give a chance to new people. Rahul Gandhi has made this clear by saying to Gehlot that when he had told you everything then why did you not put this matter before the party leadership and why did you not look for an alternative on that seat.

Rahul Gandhi keeping an eye on Gehlot’s close ones

In Rajasthan, Congress is struggling to return to power. In such a situation, Rahul Gandhi has used his veto power to ensure that CM Gehlot gets tickets for his close leaders and MLAs. In such a situation, it can be clearly understood that Congress no longer wants to follow Gehlot too much in Rajasthan. Even though Gehlot’s dominance is visible in 95 tickets, Congress does not seem to be in favor of his wish in the remaining 105 seats.

Ashok Gehlot gave tickets to his supporters

However, Ashok Gehlot is trying to get tickets for all his supporters, in which he wants to get tickets for independent MLAs at any cost. For this, people are appealing to stand firm in the power crisis of 2020. According to Gehlot, he had supported the government. It is not hidden that tickets were given to five independents together in the second list of the party. In this way, CM Gehlot has tried to push Sachin Pilot on the backfoot before the elections with his ploy so that most of the MLAs who win after the elections are from his camp and are seen standing in his favor during the formation of the government.

Rahul does not want to ignore Sachin Pilot

The Congress high command does not want to impose its views on Gehlot beyond a limit in the last moments of the elections, but at the same time it also does not want to give him the freedom to do everything as per his wish. That is why Rahul Gandhi raised questions on giving tickets to anti-incumbency MLAs and, using his veto power, did not allow their names to be finalized on Monday. One reason behind this is Sachin Pilot, whom Congress does not want to ignore.

Congress trying to help Pilot and Gehlot

At the same time, Sachin Pilot is also moving very carefully and avoiding any kind of rhetoric. The Congress leadership is seeing the present in Gehlot while the future is in Pilot, that is why Congress was keeping both the leaders safe, but due to the way Gehlot is weaving the political fabric, Rahul Gandhi has shown his political attitude.

Congress has its eyes on future politics

Congress may have contested the elections on the basis of Gehlot’s work, but it has not projected him as the CM face. In this way, hopes are also being given to Pilot and now the way Rahul has raised questions on giving tickets to leaders close to Gehlot, one thing is clear that Congress is also looking at the future politics. In such a situation, everyone is playing their own bets in the politics of Rajasthan, but it remains to be seen who wins.

However, due to Rahul Gandhi’s attitude in the election committee meeting, Gehlot is definitely in danger of being hit wicket and now Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi are there as the third umpires. Let’s see in whose favor the decisions go, but the game of check-mate continues?
