Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Congress has called for the installation of a ‘Statue of Prosperity’ to honour former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, recognising his significant contributions to India’s economic progress.

Senior Congress leaders Rajesh Choukse, Girdhar Nagar, Afsar Patel, and Amit Chaurasia praised Dr Singh’s leadership, citing his role in pivotal reforms as Finance Minister and his transformative tenure as Prime Minister.

Dr. Manmohan Singh’s policies benefited MP, Indore

“Dr. Singh oversaw major infrastructure projects in Indore, including city bus services, river restoration, and the expansion of railways & the IT sector. His policies, such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Panchayati Raj reforms, greatly benefited Madhya Pradesh’s development,” the leaders said.

‘Statue of Prosperity would symbolise his dedication’

They added that the ‘Statue of Prosperity’ would symbolise Dr Singh’s dedication to social and economic progress. They also suggested naming a flyover in Indore after him to commemorate his legacy.

At present India is observing a seven day mourning for the demise of ex-prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Amidst the same, several political leaders are paying tribute to the great economist.

On Tuesday, a condolence meeting was held in Churu city and rural block Congress Committee office, Mandelia House, to pay tribute to former PM.
