Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 13-day “Bhojpuri Folklore Presentation Workshop” org.zed under the joint aegis of the Department of Culture, Uttar Pradesh and the Department of Fine Arts and Music of Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Ravi Kishan said that I am always working to take these talented artists forward. Will stay with them.
Former Mayor Dr. Satya Pandey, the special guest in the program org.zed at Samvad Bhawan of the University, said that there is such a sweetness in the traditional folk music of Purvanchal that even the singing sounds charming.
Vice Chancellor Professor Poonam Tandon said that Bhojpuri folk music is very golden music. It is necessary to have such workshops to protect it from contamination. For this he thanked chief trainer Rakesh Upadhyay.
The workshop was org.zed under Mahakumbh Prayag Raj- 2025 and Mission Shakti. At the beginning of the program, Professor Usha Singh, Chairperson of the Department of Fine Arts and Music, welcomed all the guests by giving them bouquets, corsages and mementos. After this, a beautiful presentation of Pachara song, Devi song, Chhath song and marriage song was given by the students.
