Bengaluru, February 11: Commuters reported inconvenience as massive traffic gridlock hit the KIA airport road, between Yelahanka and the IAF Air Force Station, including surrounding areas, on the second day of the Aero India show.
The airshow commenced in the city’s Yelahanka Air Station on Monday, February 10. Amid the event’s buzz, several surrounding areas faced heavy traffic congestion, with commuters stranded for hours.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), a user shared a picture of the traffic jam and wrote, “AERO INDIA JAM…This is the traffic on the second business day on Airport Road, Bengaluru. Just wait for the last two public days. Competition ahead for the Mahakumbh jam.”
Another user wrote on X, “People outraging over ‘traffic jam’ in Prayag Raj should call their friends in Bengaluru and ask about the massive traffic snarls due to an air show with 1/100th of the crowd. Can’t handle traffic and crowd, don’t go. But don’t insult the Mahakumbh.”
Reporting their inconvenience due to the airshow, a business delegate attending the show wrote on X, “When will #Bengaluru ever become a convention/exhibition city.. shudder to even think what impression we would leave on International visitors… zero foresight… zero planning.. how can we even dream of a convention business like Dubai/Singapore.. don’t we have any sense & sensibility.. this brings down the reputation of Bengaluru Karnataka & India.”
Here’s how other users reacted on social media:
Ahead of the airshow, the Bengaluru Traffic Police issued an alert cautioning commuters about the situation near the Air Force Station. “Severe traffic congestion at BSF Campus Yelahanka Air Force towards Airport Road. Commuters are requested to cooperate,” the police said.
Additionally, the authorities suggested alternative routes for travellers heading to the airport, recommending Hennur Cross and Bagalur Road as paths to the airport’s south gate.
