Jhabua (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav attended the Bhagoriya Tribal Festival in Jhabua on Sunday and congratulated everyone on the occasion. The festival is celebrated by state’s indigenous communities a week before Holi. ‘Bhil society has an ancient and glorious history. We are also remembering many great men today,’ CM Yadav said.
Minister Nirmala Bhuria, former MP Guman Singh Damor warmly welcomed Chief Minister Yadav upon his arrival at Bhil Maha Sammelan. In a social media post CM Yadav said, ‘Bhagoriya ‘- is joy, happiness, enthusiasm, colours, life.’
Today my heart was filled with joy and happiness by participating in ‘Bhil Maha Sammelan and Bhagoriya Festival’, a symbol of folk culture, soaked in tribal culture. Bhagoria is a confluence and a vibrant celebration of pure tribal culture and modernity amidst melody of drum, the joy of the Madal, the sounds of Timkis, Ghungroos and tunes of the flute,’ he said.
‘This enthusiasm, joy and excitement are various colours of our culture. The government is committed and is working for the welfare of tribal people and development of tribal areas,’ CM Yadav added. Chief Minister Yadav also paid homage to former MP Dilip Singh Bhuria by garlanding his statue.
Highlighting the significant contributions and rich history of the tribal community, Yadav announced the establishment of a medical college in Jhabua and connecting the Anas river with Narmada. Among other announcements were provision of air ambulance services for serious medical condition, approval for construction of a link road from Kalika Mata temple to city.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday participated in Bhagoriya festival in Pansemal area of the district. He was accorded a warm welcome by former cabinet minister Prem Singh Patel, Rajya Sabha MP Sumer Singh Solanki, Lok Sabha MP Gajendra Singh Patel among others. CM Yadav announced several initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents in the district. He revealed plans to construct a civil hospital in Pansemal to reduce travel for medical treatment and provide free coaching for competitive exams to children.

Residents will receive better benefits for opening industries compared to Indore and permanent electricity connections will be available for just Rs 5. He also stated that pucca roads will be built and a survey for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) will be conducted to provide pucca houses. He announced that wheat will be purchased at Rs 2,600 per quintal and airlift services will be available for Ayushman cardholders. A bonus of Rs 5 will be given for milk purchases and subsidies will be offered for those with more than ten cows. He said that the government will actively participate in local festivities to foster community harmony.

Collector Dr Abhay Arvind Bedekar and SP Rajesh Vyas participated in the grand bhagoriya festival Chhakatla with joy and enthusiasm. Camouflaging with the environment, they played Dhol Mandal with tribals. Not only this, they also played traditional instruments such as flute and Jhalaar with the local group. The administrative duo also took stock of the security arrangements. Officials of food and revenue department were instructed to keep special vigil on the quality of food items in the fair.

The Bhagoriya festival, celebrated by the tribal community in Dhar district, took place in Tanda village. The grand festival was attended by both BJP and Congress leaders. Union minister of state Savitri Thakur said that the festival is a significant cultural event for tribals. Dressed in traditional attrire, she danced to the beat of drums and music. BJP district president Chanchal Patidar also danced with tribals. Congress leaders including state president Jeetu Patwari highlighted the party’s vision for Congress government in the state in 2028.
