News India Live, Digital Desk: Comedy Film: Hera Pheri’s OG Trikadi – Raju, Shyam and Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, aka Babu Bhaiya – have received love from fans around the world for the last two decades.
When Paresh Rawal, who played the role of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the film, recently confirmed that he would not be a part of ‘Hera Pheri 3’, only the fans were not sad. Actor Sunil Shetty also suffered a major setback after Rawal’s sudden exit from the popular franchise, who played a calm and restrained Shyam in the classic comedy.
Shetty said, “I mean, this is a huge shock for me and I have come here because I heard it yesterday and some more news came today. So, I have to call and find out and I am completely broken because if there was a film that I was waiting for, she was Hera Pheri.”
Sunil also clarified that he believes that a third installment cannot be made without ‘Babu Bhaiya’.
He said, “This cannot happen. It cannot be 100 percent without Paresh Rawal. It can be 1 percent likely without me and Akshay, but 100 percent without Paresh ji cannot happen. No, it cannot happen. Raju and Shyam, if Raju and Shyam, if Babu does not attack them here, it does not work.”
Last week, Rawal confirmed a note on X (Earlier) and confirmed that he would not be part of the third installment and he also clarified that his exit is not due to any creative disagreement.
He wrote on X, “I want to keep it on record that my decision to stay away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences.” He added, “I repeat that there are no creative differences with the filmmaker. I have immense love, respect and faith in the film’s director Mr. Priyadarshan.”
‘Hera Pheri’, directed by Priyadarshan, was released in 2000. It featured Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Tabu in the lead roles. The second film in 2006 was directed by late Neeraj Vora. It stars Akshay, Paresh, Sunil, Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav and Rimi Sen in the lead roles.
