Mumbai Police issued a third summons to Kunal Kamra: There was a lot of uproar after a comment made by stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra on Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. He did not appear before the Mumbai Police on Saturday in the case registered in this regard after his controversial statement. Giving information about this, an officer said that this is the third time in a row when Kamra has not appeared before the Mumbai Police even after being summoned.
He took a sarcasm at Shinde over partition in Shiv Sena.
The Khar police have registered a case against Kamra for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the Deputy Chief Minister during an event against Kamra on the basis of a complaint of Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel. Kamra sang a ‘parody’ at one of her events, in which she took a sarcasm at Shinde over the partition in the Shiv Sena. The event was held at a studio in Khar Hotel in Mumbai. On March 23, Shiv Sena workers vandalized the studio and hotel here.
Madras High Court granted Kamra anticipatory bail till 7 April
Officials said that Kamra was summoned for the third time by the Mumbai Police and asked him to appear on April 5. A team of Khar police arrived at Kamra’s residence in Mahim earlier this week after not appearing on another summons. The Madras High Court has granted Kamra to interim anticipatory bail till 7 April. He is a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu. Three FIRs lodged against ‘comedians’ in Nashik Rural, Jalgaon and Nashik (Nandgaon) have been transferred to Khar police station.
Kunal Kamra expressed concern about her safety and said, “I am being threatened.” And the Madras High Court has given me relief from arrest till 7 April. It remains to be seen what action the police take after two days. Apart from this, Kunal Kamra has also posted a picture recently. However, he did not say where he is.
