Collectors Often Changed In Shivraj’s Constituency, It gets Fourth In 16 Months; CM’s Constituency Gets Third Collector | FP Photo
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The government is frequently shifting collectors from Vidisha, the parliamentary constituency of former chief minister and present union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
After the assembly election and at the time of the formation of the government, Umashankar Bhargava was the collector of Vidisha.
After shifting Bhargava, the government sent Buddhesh Kumar Vaidya to Vidisha. But within just five months, he was shifted from there following a dispute over Bija Mandal religious place. In place of Vaidya, Roshan Kumar Singh was posted there.
Nevertheless, Singh was given an important district like Ujjain within eight months. The government sent Anshul Gupta as collector to Vidisha.
Collectors are also frequently shifted from the constituency of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. When Yadav took over as CM, Kumar Purushottam was the collector of Ujjain. Then, Neeraj Kumar Singh was sent there as collector. Now, in place of Neeraj Kumar Singh, Roshan Kumar Singh was posted there.
From the point of view of Simhastha, Ujjain is considered the most important district in the state. Roshan Singh has been the commissioner of Nagar Nigam in Ujjain and director of public relations. The government kept that in mind at the time of posting him there.
It was evident from the transfer list issued on Sunday that after the retirement of Ujjain divisional commissioner Sanjay Gupta, Indore collector Ashish Singh will be appointed divisional commissioner of Ujjain.
This was the reason that Singh had been given the charge of Simhastha Mela officer.
Transfers in other districts likely
After the change of collectors in four districts, the government plans to change the collectors of a few other districts. The transfer of collector of Dhar district Priyank Mishra is pending because of disposal of the Union Carbide waste.
Once the waste is disposed of, Mishra will be posted to some other place. Besides collector of Alirajpur Abhay Bedekar, collector of Morena Ankit Asthana, collector of Rewa Pratibha Pal Singh, and collector of Singrauli Chandrashekhar Shukla may be transferred.
