Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh has witnessed extreme chills and a drop in day as well as night temperature was noticed, especially in the western region of the state. Indore has experienced its coldest night of the season so far on the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday. The temperature dropped to 8.7 degrees Celsius, and broke the record for the last three years.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that colder weather is expected to persist in the state, with further temperature drops, as winter progresses.

Indore experienced coldest night

According to data from the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature recorded over the last 24 hours was 22.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature dropped to 8.7 degrees.

However, the visibility was reported at 6000 meters during the day and dropped to 4000 meters in the morning hours. Wind speeds differ, reaching up to 19 km/h. The city has not experienced any rain or drizzle.

At 8:30 AM, the temperature was 13.8 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 57% on Tuesday. Visibility was 400 meters, and the wind was coming from the northeast at a speed of 19 KMPH.

In Bhopal there was a drop of 4.5 degrees and the temperature was recorded at 7.8 degrees. There has been a significant drop in Gwalior, Ujjain and Jabalpur as well. At night the temperature was 8.5 degrees in Gwalior, 10 degrees in Ujjain and 7 degrees in Jabalpur. Similarly, Raisen, Rajgarh, Naugaon, Umaria were the cities where the temperature remained below 7 degrees.

Rain alert

The rain alert has been issued in Dhar, Guna-Ashoknagar on 11, 12 and 13 December. Generally, the cold wave blows in the last week of December, but this time, the cold has increased due to snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh.
