Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A sharp drop in day temperature was recorded across the state on Friday. Chilly winds covering the plains of north and central India led to drop in temperature in Madhya Pradesh.
A significant drop in the mercury levels is likely over the weekend, around Republic Day, according to meteorological department officials. Cyclonic circulation exists over south-west Madhya Pradesh.
So, minimum temperature is expected to drop across north-west and Central India in next 48 hours. On Friday, Bhopal recorded drop of 6.8 degrees in day temperature that settled at 22.6 degrees Celsius. Its night temperature was 13.2 degrees Celsius. Indore recorded drop of 3.6 degrees Celsius in day temperature and settled at 23.4 degrees Celsius.
Jabalpur recorded drop of 5.9 degrees while Tikamgarh recorded drop of 4 degrees. It was 4.6-degree drop in Sagar and 4.3-degree drop in Damoh. Central parts of the country face the least threat of any inclement weather conditions around this time.
As such, the displacement of seasonal anticyclones from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra has raised the chances of fair weather over the central parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
