Taxi Driver Carries 2 Coin-Filled Bags To Family Court In Tamil Nadu | IANS/Wallpaper Flare

A 37-year-old taxi driver in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu entered a family court in the region with two bags filled with coins of denominations Rs.1 and Rs.2 totalling to eighty thousand rupees. The incident was reported on December 18 when the man was acting on a court order of providing Rs.2 lakh alimony to his estranged wife.

In a divorce case, the man appeared at the court with the heavy bags of coins.

A video posted by news agency IANS showed the man walking in the court premises with his currency-filled bags, only to learn that the coins were not accepted and asked to be exchanged with notes. The judge asked the man to exchange the coins and submit notes of required alimony payment. The case was adjourned, making the man leave the court for an exchange.

The visuals recorded him returning to his car with his money bags and placing them back into it. Without much delay, he paid the amount in notes the next day.

It was learned that the man was expected to pay two lakh rupees to his former wife in the divorce case. As he carried Rs.80,000 to the court recently, the judge further ordered him to settle the remaining amount soon.

The details about the divorce case of this taxi driver and owner are unknown, but it is stated that the case was filed last year.

As the video of this incident circulated online, netizens reacted to how the man stepped into court to pay in coins. People found it a little derogatory to pay the alimony money to estranged wife in coins.
