SP Manoj Swargiyari said that 8 Naxalites have been killed in a violent encounter between Cobra commandos and Naxalites. Officials said that one of the eight Naxalites killed in Lugu Hills this morning had a reward of one crore rupees. Apart from this, three weapons have been recovered from the spot and the search for other Naxalites is also going on. The search operation is still going on. The actual number will be known only after the campaign is over. The SP said that there was information that 8 to 10 Naxalites were included in the squad of these two. However, complete information is still awaited.

According to the police, the encounter between CRPF Cobra Commandos and Naxalites lasted for about two and a half hours. Security forces seized an AK series rifle, three INSAS rifles, a self -loading rifle (SLR), eight indigenous guns and a pistol from the scene. He said that there is no news of any security personnel being injured. The search operation is still going on. It is noteworthy that Lugu Hill and Jhumra Hills in Bokaro district are hideouts of Naxalites and security forces are continuously conducting search operations in the surrounding areas.
