CBN’s Sub-Inspector Booked For Accepting ₹1.10 Lakh Bribe Including Contractual Employees; CBI Arrests Two | FPJ
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) sub-inspector has been booked for demanding ₹1.10 lakh from a man for issuing licence for opium cultivation in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur, CBI reported on Saturday.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended two contractual employees of Mandsaur’s Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) for demanding & accepting the bribe from the complainant on behalf of the accused Sub-Inspector of CBN in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur.
CBI had registered a case on November 29 (Friday), against accused Sub-Inspector of Central Bureau of Narcotics, Mandsaur and two other unidentified men. It was alleged that the Sub-Inspector had demanded undue advantage of ₹1.2 lakh initially, from the complainant for issuing license for cultivation of Opium.

Later, the complainant reported the matter to the CBI. Acting on the complaint, CBI laid a trap. As soon as the complainant handed over the money and the two accused accepted it, both the contractual employees were caught red-handed and arrested.
The identity of the two offenders remains unknown at present. It was also revealed that the two accused took the bribe money on behalf of the CBN Sub-Inspector himself.
The CBI has taken charge of the matter and launched a thorough investigation into the same. Further action would be taken on the basis of the findings of the investigation.
