Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday hit out at the opposition Samajwadi Party and accused them of playing with India’s religious sentiments during the Budget Session inside UP Assembly on Tuesday.

CM Aditynath was responding to LoP Mata Prasad Pandey’s remark calling him “communal”.

Speaking in the UP assembly, Adityanath said, “You play with India’s religious sentiments and call our thinking communal. Tell me, how is it communal? We believe in inclusive development for all. Our guiding principle is ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramaya,'” CM Adityanath said in the House.

In his address, Adityanath said that socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia had said as long as India upholds Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and Adi Shankaracharya as its three guiding ideals, no force can harm the nation.

He further said, “Today’s Samajwadi Party has strayed far from the values and ideals of Lohia.”

Speaking about the recently concluded Maha Kumbh, the chief minister said, “This grand event showcased India’s heritage to the world. Over 100 countries participated with devotion. There was no discrimination based on caste, sect, or religion. Everyone who attended left deeply moved.”

Meanwhile, CM Adityanath who was speaking during the budget session of the state assembly said that the budget of 2023-24 was based on laying the foundation of self-reliant Uttar Pradesh.

The budget of 2024-25 was dedicated towards Lok Mangal and bringing alive the concept of Ramrajya.

The budget of 2025-26 has been dedicated to the farmers, youth, women and the poor, drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the theme of the budget is ‘Priority to the deprived.’
