Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday chaired a meeting with School Education Department officials to discuss the 100-day action plan. School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse presented the action plan that advocates, amongst other things, adopting the CBSE curriculum in this academic year, and transforming at least one school in each cluster into a model school.
The 100-day plan includes implementation of the revised State Curriculum Framework for School Education (SCF-SE) this year. The framework will include the adoption of CBSE pattern in the curricula with necessary adjustments for the state from this academic year (AY), said the School Education Minister.
The action plan stated transforming at least one school in each cluster into a model school, also known as “CM Shri School” on the lines of the Centre’s PM Shri Schools initiative. These schools will be equipped with a smart classroom.
Moreover, teachers excelling in innovative initiatives will be recognised as role models, the plan added. Bhuse also said that the ranking of schools will be done based on the overall quality.
He shared his aim to equip Marathi-medium schools with superior infrastructure by leveraging government schemes and social responsibility funds. Other initiatives to be implemented in the coming year included geo-tagging and mapping of all schools and Anganwadi centers with photographs to implement the National Education Policy and making the state song mandatory in all schools along with effective implementation of Marathi language policies. Long-term measures were also discussed, including integrating children of brick kiln workers, sugarcane labourers, and farm workers into the education system.
