The Indian markets closed with an edge. Today the Nifty closed over 23600 while the Sensex closed at 77984. In today’s business, the Nifty reached 23,708.75 while the Sensex reached 78,107.23.
The Indian rupee rose 34 paise to close at 85.63. While the Indian rupee closed at 85.97 on Friday.
Smallcap and midcap stocks saw weakness. The NSE midcap index fell 0.05 percent to close at 24,042.13. While the NSE smallcap index fell 0.69 per cent to close at 26,980.75.
Finally, the 30 -share BSE benchmark index Sensex rose 1,078.87 points or 1.40% to close at 77,984.38. NSE’s 50 -share major index Nifty rose 307.95 points or 1.32% to close at 23,658.35.
Today, banking, auto, financial services, FMCG, pharma, PSU bank, realty, healthcare and consumer durables and oil and gas stocks have seen an increase of 0.19-4.16 per cent. Bank Nifty rose 2.20 percent to close at 51,704.95. While IT, metal and private bank shares were seen to decline.
During today’s trading session, Kotak Mahindra Bank, NTPC, SBI, Tech Mahindra, Power Grid, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv and BEL closed with a gain of 2.44–4.86 per cent. Whereas among the legendary shares, IndusInd Bank, Titan, Trent, M&M, Bharti Airtel, Britannia and Nestle closed down by 0.24–2.79 per cent.
Among the midcap stocks, Indian Renew, Nippon, Federal Bank, Jubilant Foods, Branbiz, Cummins and Container Corpked to 4.09-10.07 per cent. However, midcap stocks included Jindal Stainless, Seshefler Industries, Glaxosmithkline, Oo Minda, L&T technology falling down to 1.65–5.22 per cent.
Among the smallcap stocks, Sharda Motor, Sangam India, JBM Auto, Power Make, Kirloskar, Gujarat Themis and 5 paisa Capital closed up to 12.16-20.00 per cent. However, smallcap shares have been closed with a weakness of Eco Lighting, Vomamta Labs, Jansol Engineering, Excades Tech, Ventive Hospital and Taj GVK Hotels 4.81-9.55 per cent.
