A disturbing video has surfaced online showing a stationary scooter—with a man and his six-year-old son sitting on it—suddenly bursting into flames on the roadside.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday at 11 PM near Chanthapadi in Mannarkkad, Palakkad. The boy sustained burn injuries after flames erupted from the scooter.
The man has been identified as Hamsakutty, a resident of Nayadikunnu, who was traveling with his six-year-old son, Hanaan.
According to reports, the scooter caught fire after Hamsakutty pulled over to the side of the road to take a phone call.
The video shows the boy immediately running away from the scooter as the fire broke out, with flames visibly emanating from his legs as he escaped. However, instead of fleeing to safety, Hamsakutty attempted to remove a bag attached to the bike’s handle.
Upon noticing the blaze, passersby rushed to douse the flames. Within moments, several locals brought water in buckets and jars, pouring it onto the vehicle to prevent further damage. With their help, the fire was extinguished within minutes.
It was later revealed that the two-wheeler was a Suzuki Access 125.
